AN ORDINANCE FURTHER AMENDING SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 87-003, S. 1987 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 88-037, S. 1988, PRESCRIBING GUIDELINES AND/OR RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR HOSPITALIZATION AND MEDICAL BENEFIT CLAIMS OF BONAFIDE BARANGAY COUNCIL OFFICIALS IN THE TWENTY-SEVEN (27) BARANGAYS OF THE CITY OF NAGA: -

Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of Naga, that:

SECTION 1. – SECTION 4 of Ordinance No. 87-003, S. 1987, as amended by Ordinance No. 88-037, is hereby further amended to read as follows:

“SECTION 4. – Hospitalization shall include the actual confinement in any government and/or privately owned hospitals, clinics, dispensaries including the use of its laboratory facilities: PROVIDING, HOWEVER, that direct confinement in privately owned hospitals, clinics, or dispensaries, may be allowed in cases of emergencies under the following circumstances: -

a. Emergency cases as certified by the attending physician; and

b. Proximity of the hospital;

c. Illness or injuries occurring while on official travel in places without government hospital, clinics, or dispensaries;

SECTION 2. – SECTION 7 (e) of Ordinance No. 87-003, S. 1987 is hereby amended by adding another requirement, to wit:

“SECTION 7 (f). – Official Travel Order, duly signed by the Barangay Captain in case official is hospitalized while on official travel”.

SECTION 3. – This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
