WRI celebrates pre-Silver anniversary

Twenty-four years after it was founded, the Worldtech Resources Institute (WRI) Computer Colleges remains true in its promise of delivering affordable yet competitive courses to the Bicolano youth.

For its Pre-Silver Anniversary celebrated last March 7, Wednesday, students, faculty and the administration of WRI, led by President and Founder E. Daniel A. De Leon, gathered at the WRI Metro Naga Campus in Concepcion Grande, Naga City to commemorate the highlights and innovations that mark the developments of generations of students in the 24 years that passed by.

Staying true to its tradition of continuous pursuit for excellence and technological innovation related to academics to produce globally competitive individuals, the gist of the entire program involved projects created by students and faculty that would further better the programs offered by the school.

The celebrations started with the usual Mass in the morning with Fr. Rex Hidalgo followed by the presentation of projects in the afternoon by representatives from WRI branches in Metro Naga, Iriga City, Calabanga and Goa.

Special, keystone and capstone projects were also presented to the student body. These projects are scheduled to be operational this year on the first semester, according to de Leon.

Among these special innovative projects are the WRI E-Library System, an innovation which would enable students to gain access to electronic versions of textbooks essential to their courses, and the WRI Online Student Registration System.

Keystone projects created by students include softwares for Virtual Tour of WRI Colleges, WRI E-Lib: EducHIVE, WRI Online Inquiry System, WRI Metro Naga Student Directory, WRI Alumni Monitoring, Online Grading System of WRI Metro Naga, WRI Blissful Place for Cheerful People, and WRI Colleges and Beyond.

Capstone projects are websites, ZAHS, NNHS, RNTVS, WRI Corporate Website, WRI Student Directory, WRI Yearbook 2012, WRI Online Inquiry, WRI Writeups, WRI Alumni Website and WRI EBizSite with Multiply Portal.

Bearing the slogan “Passion to Innovate,” WRI Colleges is set to celebrate its Silver Anniversary next year.
