Photo contest winners bared

A 21-year-old B.S. Information Technology graduate of the Ateneo de Naga University won the grand prize in the “It’s More Fun in Naga Online Photography Contest” sponsored by the city government here in celebration of Naga’s 64th Charter Anniversary.
Mark Angelo Garcera of San Pantaleon, Magarao, Camarines Sur took away the first prize of P20,000 plus certificate for his winning photo, “Family Fun Run.”
The second prize went to Paolo A. Suzara of Narra Street, Sta. Cruz, Naga City, who submitted his photo entitled, “Learning History.” He won a cash prize of P15,000 plus certificate. A graduate of STI College Naga, Paolo now works as a Placement Officer and career Adviser at his alma mater.
Dan Michael Baraquiel of Garcia Street, Sabang Naga City won the cash prize of P10,000 for third place with his “Traslacion: A Balancing Act.” He is a photography student at the College of St. Benilde of De La Salle University in Manila.
The awarding of prizes will be held at 7:00 p.m. on June 16 during the NGO-PO Night of the Charter Anniversary celebrations at People’s Hall, City Hall Compound, this city.
Meanwhile, the online voting for the “People’s Choice Award,” is still ongoing until midnight of June 15, 2012. Any Facebook user will be eligible to vote on photo-entries submitted using the Facebook App on the city website.
The winning photos and other selected entries will be on display at the People’s Hall, City Hall compound on June 16 until June 20.
The Online photo contest executive committee is composed of First Lady Farah R. Bongat as chairperson, with the following as members: Joe Perez (project coordinator), Elmer Abad (KBP Cam Sur), Nilo P. Aureus (Bicol Mail/Goldprint), Ric Perez (UNC IMC), Ansel Mano (Naga LGU EDP), Zayda Fe Rifareal (ACTO), and Lilibeth ‘Bitang’ Sanchez (CPERO).
