Naga to host national youth confab

Some 200 to 250 youth leaders from different parts of the country will be trooping to this city for the 9th National Youth Parliament on May 2-6, 2012.
The main convention venue is The Tent of the Avenue Plaza Hotel along the sparkling Magsaysay Avenue, otherwise known as the Strip.
The 3-day national convention, which is being sponsored by the National Youth Commission, is in consonance with Section 13 of R.A. 8044, known as Youth in Nation-Building Act of 1995, which aims to address youth issues and serve as government’s guide in policy formulation and program development.
Participants are youth leaders from the academe, out-of-school youth (OSY), in-school youth (ISY), working youth, and representatives from different youth organizations all over the country.
To ensure a memorable stay of the participants, City Mayor John G. Bongat, through the Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (ACTO) has asked business establishments, especially those in the food, entertainment, and accommodation services if they could provide special discounts to the guests and participants.
“Inasmuch as we would like our guests to experience our fabled hospitality and warmth, we are inviting you — our stakeholders in the food and accommodation industry — to be part of this important event, which is a boost to our city’s tourism and economic development objectives,” the mayor said.
He said it will be for the mutual interest of the business sector and the city “if for the duration of the youth convention, your business establishment would be generous and hospitable enough to offer our guests, aside from your smiles, some form of special discounts whenever they patronize your food and services.”
The mayor added that such generous gesture will bring not only goodwill and good image to the city but will create a healthy business practice as well, in terms of satisfied and grateful clients who would talk about the industry’s excellent services and products even when the guests and delegates had long gone back home after the convention.

Hi,
Will there be a parade/motorcade to be held on May 2 along the downtown area of Naga? What time will the program start? Will this create a heavy traffic congestion/traffic re-routing on that day?
Hoping to receive a response. Thank you.
