Beneficiary households received a set of baking tools from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during the Kabuhayan Starter Kit Distribution at the Metro PESO, January 8, 2018.

Thirty- five (35) households from Gawad Kalinga- Barangay Del Rosario benefitted in the community baking livelihood program which is a project under the Bottom- Up Budgeting (BUB) program.

Ms. Corazon Ragas, the project director of GK- Del Rosario, expressed her delight with the tools and equipment received from DOLE.

Kasi yan po ang gusto ming mangyari, may livelihood sinda para makaangat man sinda sa buhay,” explained Ragas.

With her knowledge in baking acquired thru series of trainings and seminar sponsored by the Metro PESO under the Grow Negosyo program, Ragas shared that she is more than willing to impart her skills, and the set of baking tools and equipment given them are truly helpful to their envisioned community bakery project in GK site in Del Rosario.

The distributed kit consists of pastry brushes, measuring bowls, stand mixers, egg beaters, weighing scales, trays, oven, among others.

Mr. Jaime Francisco, Barangay Grow Negosyo Account Officer of Metro PESO, shared that they will also be awarding kabuhayan kits to the basket- making production workers in Barangay Panicuason as well as cooking tools to the bulastog vendors in Plaza Rizal.

With enough fund allocation for their livelihood programs for this year, DOLE is looking forward for more livelihood projects that will be enlisted under their livelihood program.
