Live safely in Naga

Naga is the best place to live in.  Its bullish economy, wonderful people, and interesting places are well protected by its police force and contingents of public safety and rescue operations.

The city’s fire station has been adjudged as the Best Fire Station in the whole Bicol Region by the Bureau of Fire Protection Regional Office V.  Its dedicated employees, headed by Naga City Fire Marshall Achilles Santiago, one of the country’s adjudicated Best Fire Marshalls in the Philippines, regularly conduct fire prevention trainings, building inspections, fire fighting duties and even outreach programs for the benefit of the Nagueños.

The City Government of Naga is also highly responsive in securing its citizens’ safety as it employed thousands of employees to watch its perimeter 24 hours a day. The Philippine National Police has at least eight (8) police stations and outposts in various points of the city.

Additional security groups have been employed through the Naga City Public Safety Office and Bantay Kataid (BanKat) program, a brainchild of Naga City Mayor John G. Bongat when he was still a city councilor.  The 27 baranggays (villages) also have their own baranggay tanods (village volunteer guardians). Closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras have been installed in strategic areas in the city, particularly in the city’s business centers.
