Live healthy in Naga

The City of Naga treasures its citizens and residents, hence its focus on quality health services and facilities.

Naga is home to the two of the largest hospitals in the Bicol Region – the privately owned Mother Seton Hospital and the government-run Bicol Medical Center.

The Mother Seton Hospital serves the entire region and provides medical services that are at-par with those in Metro Manila. It is also the only private hospital in Bicol which offers specialty training programs duly accredited by the Philippine Medical Association.

Meanwhile, the Bicol Medical Center is the largest government-run health facility in the region. It used to be called Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) until it was upgraded by the Department of Health (DOH) into a full medical center in the early 1990s. BMC is the only training hospital in Bicol offering complete residency training programs accredited by the Philippine Medical Association in almost all fields of medicine.

As a manifestation of the city government’s unwavering commitment to provide its citizens efficient and effective health services, the City Government of Naga also runs its own public hospital, the Naga City Hospital.  It has modern medical facilities which cater to the primary health needs of Naga City’s residents.

Two other private hospitals, St. John Hospital and the Nilo Roa Memorial Hospital, are strategically located along Naga’s commercial districts, providing medical services not only to city residents but to those from other towns as well.

In all, there are 769 hospital beds in Naga. These are composed of 242 private rooms and 527 charity wards.

Naga also boasts of hundreds of doctors specializing in various fields. The St. Louise health facility, Plaza Medica, and Bicol Access Health Centrum house dozens of medical clinics, essentially making Naga the regional center for health.

Naga is home to 102 clinics, 67 of which cater to different medical health conditions while the remaining 35 are dental clinics.

A total of 636 physicians and medical consultants practice their profession in Naga.
