Nora Aunor to be honored as Honorary Naguena

The City Government of Naga, through the Sangguniang Panglunsod, will formally confer on Superstar Nora Aunor the title “Honorary Naguena” by virtue of Resolution No. 2015-078 which the city council jointly and unanimously passed during its session last week, “in recognition of her contributions to the promotion and development of culture and arts, not only in Naga City but also in the entire country.”

The conferment ceremonies, to be led by Naga City Mayor John G. Bongat and Vice Mayor Nelson S. Legacion, will be held in the evening of Thursday, March 26, at the Avenue Convention Center along Magsaysay Avenue in Naga City.

Earlier, Ms. Aunor was also honored with a “Bulawan na Bikolnon” award, the highest honor being bestowed by the Ateneo de Naga University for Exemplary Achievements by outstanding citizens.

PDAO takes part in celebrating National Autism Week

NAGA CITY — Special activities were lined up in celebration of the 19th National Autism Week from January 25 to 31, this year.

One of the organizations spearheading the activity is the Persons with Disability Office (PDAO) under its Officer-in-Charge, Christopher Molin.

PDAO was created by virtue of Ordinance No. 2010-039 authored by City Councilor Nathan Sergio, Chair of the Sanggunian Committee on Persons with Disabilities.

Flags in city fly at half-staff for Archbishop Legaspi, 76

CITY MAYOR John G. Bongat today, August 11, issued Proclamation No. 2014-005 declaring August 11-13, 2014 as days of mourning in the City of Naga over the passing of Caceres Archbishop Emeritus Leonardo Z. Legaspi, O.P., D.D.

As directed by the same proclamation, the national flag in all public offices, buildings, and installations will be flown half-staff on August 12, 2014 from sunrise to sunset, or from 8:00 o’clock in the morning to 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

Archbishop Emeritus Legaspi passed away at 5:00 o’clock in the morning of August 8 at the UST Hospital in Manila. His death coincided with the 37th anniversary of his episcopal ordination and also the feast day of St. Dominic of Guzman, the founder of the Dominican Order to which he belonged.
