Cancelling, Revising or Correcting Assessments

ABOUT THE SERVICE

Clients who would like to delete, adjust or correct assessments on their real property request this service.

The City Assessor’s assessment records are used by the Land Tax Division of the City Treasurer’s Office in computing the annual tax to be paid by owners of land and buildings.

REQUIREMENT(S)

  • Service Slip
  • Letter of Request for Cancellation, Revision or Correction of Assessment
  • Certificate of Real Property Tax Payment
  • Barangay Certification (cancellation of building)

HOW TO AVAIL OF THE SERVICE

FOLLOW THESE STEPS IT WILL TAKE YOU PLEASE APPROACH
1. Request for the Service
Inform Officer-of-the-Day (OD) regarding the request. OD, in turn, provides a Service Slip for endorsement to the Tax Assessment Division (TAD) Chief.

2. Submit Service Slip

–> Submit the Service Slip together with the required documents to the TAD Chief, and waits for the request to be evaluated.
–> TAD Chief assigns the task to a
Local Assessment Operations Officer (LAOO).

3. Site Inspection (Optional)

–> A Local Assessment Operations Officer (LAOO) along with the client conducts an inspection of the property to check whether there is a basis for cancellation, revision or correction of assessment.
–> A Field Appraisal Assessment Sheet (FAAS) is prepared

4. Preparation of Notice

–> LAOO prepares an inspection report (if site inspection was conducted).
–> The LAOO then prepares a notice of Cancellation, Revision or Correction.

5. Processing of Notice
–> TAD Chief evaluates and signs the Notice of Cancellation, Revision or Correction
–> Tax Mapping Division (TMD) Chief records the transaction in the Tax Mapping Control Roll (TMCR).
–> Assistant City Assessor reviews the Notice.
–> City Assessor approves and signs the notice

6. Issuance of Notice

–> The notice of Cancellation, Revision or Correction is recorded and a copy is issued to the client.
–> The Service Slip containing the
client’s comments, if any, is retrieved.
